Veteran actor Jamshid Hashempour is to be honored at the Tehran FICTS in Iran.

The 2021 edition of the Tehran International FICTS Festival in Iran has been scheduled to pay tribute to veteran actor Jamshid Hashempour.

Born in 1944, the veteran actor made his film debut in 1968 with ‘White Hell’.

His performance in ‘Weak Point’ in 1983 with a shaved head was a turning point in his career drawing filmmakers’ attention. He, subsequently, starred in a number of movies with the same appearance in that year.

Hashempour’s performance in Iraj Qaderi’s ‘Invasion’ (1984) turned him into one of Iran most popular actors.

The actor has appeared in numerous movies, including ‘Mother’, ‘The Devoted’, ‘Swan Song’, ‘Journey to Tomorrow’, ‘Poisonous Mushroom’, ‘The Fifth Reaction’, ‘My Father’s Farm’, ‘The Stranger’, ‘Hush! Girls Don’t Scream’, ‘Kalashnikov’, and ‘The Days of Love and Betrayal’.

His performance in ‘Heeva’ (1998) won him the honorary Diploma for the Best Actor from the 17th Fajr International Film Festival.

‘Testimony for God’ (2007) earned Hashempour a nomination for the Best Actor Crystal Simorgh at the Fajr International Film Festival.

Organized by the cultural institute of the Khayyam Art House NGO, the event is held to stage a contest between filmmakers and producers, spot young talents, and to introduce inspiring figures.

As the exclusive representative of the FICTS Sport Federation, the Tehran International FICTS Festival functions in line with sporting regulations of Iran, the National Olympic and Paralympics Committee and the FICTS Federation.

The closing ceremony of the event is slated for March 11, 2021, in Tehran.
